Central District Management Association, Inc.

Mission Statement

To promote the preservation and development of the Central Avenue business corridor of the capital City of Albany and to organize in order to do all things necessary and proper to make said area more attractive and accessible.

 To this end the Business Improvement District will work to enhance the public perception of the Central Avenue business corridor thought the overseeing and managing the appearance, Security and cleanliness of the business improvement district. 

Established in 1998, the Central Avenue BID was created to enhance the business environment and to do all things within the established guidelines to make Central Avenue a better place to live, work, and have fun. The BID is established under state regulations for business improvement districts. New York State in 2017 has over 163 such business improvement districts.  

 

The Central Avenue BID is managed by the Central District Management Association, Inc. The CDMA, Inc, is a 501(c)3 not for profit corporation. The employees and financial operations of the CDMA, Inc. are independent of that of the City of Albany. The CDMA, Inc. is the entity responsible for conducting the business of the business improvement district.  The CDMA, Inc has a Board of Directors made of representative property owners and commercial tenants. They guide the mission and objectives of the C.D.M.A, Inc and thus direct the staff to carry out the daily activities of the organization with in the B.I.D. district Service Area.
