» When Mark Garzia starts to talk about Lexington Vacuum, you can hear a quiet excitement in his voice.
Mark, who owns Lexington Vacuum with his wife Jan Garzia, the company secretary and bookkeeper, is clearly passionate about what he does.
The company, originally founded in 1946 by two World War II veterans, moved to 562 Central Avenue in 1974. Mark and his wife, who have owned and operated the business since 1983, developed the company further, offering an extensive line of residential and commercial vacuums - and building a strong customer base in the process. When a fire in the building next to their 562 Central Avenue location forced them to relocate, they found another storefront in the district where they could retain their loyal following and develop new clientele.
“We could not have done it without our dedicated staff,” says Mark. “We got through the difficult times and emerged stronger than before.”
Lexington Vacuum’s new location at 997 Central Avenue offers off-street parking, handicapped accessibility, and is a bright, well-lit retail space where they can display and demonstrate various product lines.
In addition to selling and servicing most major brands, Lexington Vacuum also accepts many trade-ins and recycles the parts of older machines. “It’s the environmentally right thing to do,” says Mark.
“There’s nothing we can’t do to help someone with their vacuum needs,” says Mark. If you’re in the market for a new vacuum, stop by
and talk to the staff at Lexington Vacuum. They know all the ins and outs of spring cleaning - any time of the year.
